D-Düsseldorf. 21.08.2017. Short, concise and matching to the new profile: METRO Wholesale & Food Specialist AG now changed its name to METRO AG. The name change was recorded in the Commercial Register on 18 August 2017.

With this move, the group’s demerger into two

independent public companies has also been completed with regard to the company names. The wholesale business of METRO Cash & Carry, the hypermarkets of Real, the delivery specialists and the digitisation entity HoReCa.digital now all operate under the name of METRO AG while the consumer electronics division with its brands MediaMarkt and Saturn started operating under the name of CECONOMY AG last week.

As an autonomous and independent company, METRO AG focuses more intensively on its core business and can thus act more dynamically – an added value for customers, employees and shareholders and an important step into the future.

The ticker symbol B4B underlines the focus of the new METRO as a partner of independent businesses.
